Senior Congress leader lalatendu (lulu) Bidyadhar Mohapatra on Thursday openly praised Congress workers, who pelted eggs at Ministers at different places recently, and challenged the ruling BJD once again to stop him and his party men from protesting against irregularities and scams of the State Government.
“I support my party workers for their protest spirit. I am now moving from Khordha to Phulbani. If they (BJD workers) have courage, they should stop me. I will think of how to stop them from coming out of their own houses,” Mohapatra said at a party workers’ meeting at Begunia in Khordha district.
He said, “Yesterday, I had challenged their ‘tit for tat’ warning. I challenge this again today. For this, I have come to Khordha and am moving to Phulbani, Nayagarh, Begunia and Bolagarh. let them counter me, I will think of how they will not come outside,” he said.
To a question whether workers are pelting stones at the behest of him or have support of the Congress, Mohapatra, former working president of the PCC, said, “I have come from the Congress family. I welcome workers for their act (pelting stones at Ministers) with heart full thanks,” he said.
He too requested the Congress youths and students to keep up such programmes.
