Senior Congress leader lalatendu (lulu) Bidyadhar Mohapatra on Monday criticised the party’s August 16 Odisha Bandh on the Mahanadi water dispute, stating that the bandh would solve no purpose unless senior leaders work united.
“There is lack of coordination among senior leaders. Nothing will happen in a bandh,” said Mohapatra, adding that the AICC can’t intervene in all issues involving the PCC.
“We must repair our own house. The AICC can’t intervene in all the issues concerning the Odisha Congress,” said Mohapatra.
Mohapatra’s statement came when the PCC was holding a preparatory meeting for the upcoming Panchayat elections at the party headquarters here.
Commenting on Mohapatra’s statement, PCC president Prasad Harichandan said there are differences of opinion among party leaders in a democratic party and efforts are on to sort them out if there is any in the Congress.
