Even as heavy rains since the last couple of days have triggered a flood-like situation in the southern region of the State, the Regional Office of Indian Metrological Department (IMD) here on Friday predicted more rains in several parts of the State.

The IMD said the north and coastal districts of Odisha may experience heavy rains on August 19 as a low pressure is likely to form over the north Bay of Bengal in the next 48 hours.

Cyclonic circulation would form over the Bay of Bengal on Saturday which would turn into a low pressure the following day.

Coastal districts like Baleswar, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Puri and Khordha would experience heavy rains under the impact of the low pressure from August 19, the weather office said.
