low pressure to delay winter

Published on:

The onset of winter in Odisha and the country’s south-east region would be delayed by at least a week due to a low pressure likely to be formed in the south coast of Thailand very soon.

“Under the influence of the low pressure, sea wind would blow towards the land and obstruct the northerly wind from the Himalayan range as a result of which the onset of winter will be delayed in these regions by at least a week,” said Dr Surendranath Pashupalak, Agro Meteorologist of the Odisha University of Agriculture Technology (OUAT), Bhubaneswar.

The State would experience normal winter from November 8, he said.
