In a shocking incident, a young man and his lover, a minor, committed suicide by hanging themselves in a closed room at Gundalaba village under the Astarang police station of Puri district on Wednesday.
The deceased were identified as Santosh Kumar Biswal (26), son of Bishnu Biswal, and his beloved Roli Swain (16), daughter of Ganeswar Swain of Gundalaba village.
The Astarang police, being informed, came to the spot and seized the dead bodies. The police registered an UD case on the FIR of Bishnu Biswal and sent the bodies for postmortem.
The whole village was overwhelmed with grief after the incident.
