LoP seeks Watershed NMRs regularised

Leader of Opposition (LoP) Pradipta Kumar Naik on Wednesday expressed concern in the Assembly over ‘no recruitment’ to Government jobs and urged that the Government regularise all NMR and contractual employees in their respective posts in various departments at the earliest.

Raising the issue during the Zero Hour, the Leader of Opposition said as many as 384 NMR employees, who had worked in the Odisha Watershed Development Mission (OWDM) from 2002 to 2013, have now taken to the streets to get reinstated in their jobs.

“After working for 12 years, they have lost maximum age limits. The Government has invited applications for 174 posts of different categories. While the NMR employees have high qualifications and experience, they are not getting opportunity to appear for the recruitment examinations due over age. The Government should regularise them soon,” demanded Naik.

He too slammed the Government for appointing retired employees in different posts, breaking employments for youths.
