leader of Opposition (loP) Narsingha Mishra on Thursday moved a privilege motion in the State Assembly against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik alleging that the latter had misled the House by providing untrue information on the Mahanadi water dispute way back in 2010.
“The Chief Minister had furnished untrue information in response to a Calling Attention notice on August 5, 2010,” alleged Mishra.
He also said that a ruling BJD spokesperson (Pratap Deb) had also breached the privilege of the House a few days back by stating that giving false information are being provided in the Assembly many times. The spokesperson may also come under the purview of privilege of the House, Mishra said, and demanded that his motion be sent to the Privileges Committee for consideration.
Deputy Speaker Sanand Manandi said he would take up his demand with Speaker Niranjan Pujari, who would take a final call on the matter.
