A National Lok Adalat in the Orissa High Court here settled as many as 109 cases on Saturday, easing the burden of pending cases to some extent.
The cases were taken up and heard by different benches of the National Lok Adalat. Compensations of Rs 6.77 crore in insurance cases were settled.
A total of 841 cases were listed to be taken up by four Lok Adalat benches under the aegis of the High Court Legal Services Committee along with Odisha State Legal Services Authority. Out of it, 109 cases, including 99 insurance related, were settled.
Among others, Justice AK Rath, Justice SK Sahoo, Justice KR Mohapatra and Justice AK Mishra led the benches.
