Despite the rules that no bar or wine shop shall operate near the educational institutes or places of worship, ironically a foreign liquor shop is operating within the Ram Mandir premises at Champua Sub-divisional headquarters town.
People generally go to the temple to seek peace and happiness but here, the pristine atmosphere of the temple is spoiled by the presence of the wine shop at a stone’s throw as drunkards are creating nefarious scene around.
Moreover when customers stand consuming liquor by the side of the road to the temple, the women fear to tread on the road during evening time. This thing is known to all people including the local police but no action is taken as the owner of the wine shop is said to be a powerful leader of the ruling party in the State.
The locals have demanded that the Government take proper action to shift the wine shop to other place.
