The locals of Khariar constituency in Nuapada district have expressed resentment over the suggestion of KBK Administrator Ashok Tripathy about shifting of offices of Executive Engineers of Minor Irrigation and Public Works Department from Khariar to Nuapada.
Tripathy, after his visit to different project sites in Khariar, Sinapali and Boden blocks of the district, has suggested that these offices located at Khariar should be shifted to the District Headquarters for better monitoring of the development programmes.
A delegation of Khariar locals met the district Collector on Saturday to express their grievance against the shifting. “Khariar is located at the center of the district and when all office infrastructures are available here, the suggestion for shifting is unjustified,” they said. Responding to the public grievance, the Collector said that it was only a suggestion by the administrator and the Government had not taken any decision.
The delegation was led by Khariar MlA Duryodhan Majhi. Sanjay Tiwari, Adhiraj Panigrahi, Jadumani Panigrahi, Nimai Tandi, Fakira Jagat, Manoj Pattnaik, Santosh Pattnaik among others from Khariar, Boden and Sinapali blocks were in the delegation.
