A married woman teacher of a Government school of Sundargarh district was forcefully kept out of her school premises by the locals since Tuesday, allegedly for illicit relation with a youth.
She reportedly has got separated from her husband.
Since the locals demanded that they would not allow her to continue in the school, the headmaster has reported the matter to Assistant Block Education Officer (ABEO) and recommended her transfer.
The accused teacher was identified as Tapaswini Tandia (34) of Bileimunda Nodal Upper Primary School under Hemgiri police station. She stays alone in a house at Hemigiri area and her relation with one Milan Thakkar (32), an unmarried youth, of the same locality is objected to the locals.
During last week of June, Milan’s family members had lodged a complaint in the Hemgiri police station that Milan was missing from their house. They reported that Milan while leaving his house had told that he was going to his maternal uncle’s house, but he neither reached there, nor returned home. On July 2, the police got a tip off about Milan and conducting a raid found him in the house of Tapaswini. During interrogation, Tapaswini confessed that she was in love with Milan and therefore both were staying in that house.
However, the police had told her that since she had not officially been divorced, she could not live with another person.
As the news of the teacher’s love affair circulated in the locality, hundreds of locals had gathered in front of Bileimunda Nodal UP School premises on Tuesday and did not allow her to enter into the school later, the irate villagers submitted a letter addressed to the Block Education Officer through the headmaster to transfer her immediately.
