Hundreds of people belonging to Jalanga, Nuasahi and Raida villages under Gajapati district’s Raigada block detained four Government engineers demanding a proper inquiry into the alleged poor quality construction of roads under the Prime Minister Gramya Sadaka Yojana (PMGSY) undertaken by the Interior Village Development Department (IVDD) in their villages.
“All the roads constructed under the PMGSY have damaged within two years. The officials and engineers, who were assigned to carry out the projects, are responsible,” alleged locals.
The irate locals detained the engineers while they wer e conducting an enquiry into the alleged low quality work. However, they released them latter after getting assurance of proper investigation from the concerned Government officials.
