The Lingaraj Temple here would reopen from January 3. Initially, the temple would reopen for servitors from December 27 to December 31.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting chaired by BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary on Tuesday. However, the temple will remain closed on January 1 and 2 in apprehension of an influx of devotees for New Year. Devotees can pay obeisance to the Lord from January 3.
On a priority basis, people of Bhubaneswar can visit the temple from January 3 to January 5.From January 6 to January 31, devotees from Bhubaneswar and outside can visit the temple.
