The Rourkela Bar Association (RBA) observed the 165th birth anniversary of Utkal Gaurab Madhusudan Das here on Sunday. A meeting was organised after garlanding the statue of Madhubabu.
Minister of Commerce and Transport Subrat Tarai, Rourkela MlA Sarada Prasad Nayak, Additional District Judge (ADJ) Janab Md Ajmal and second ADJ Ananda Ch Behera attended it.
Tarai urged lawyers to follow the footsteps of Madhubabu and render free legal counseling to the poor.
MlA Nayak assured to provide Rs 5 lakh from his MlA lAD fund for opening of a library inside the court premises and for other developmental works.
Ashim Dhala Behera was felicitated by the guest for qualifying for ADJ.
The meeting was presided over by association president Ramesh Chandra Bal. Among others, association secretary Sadananda Sahoo, Rajkishore Pradhan, Surya Pani, Girish Mohapatra, Nayan Das, Pramod Debata and many lawyers were present. Similarly, on another occasion, Madhu. Jayanti was observed by Pragati Utkal Sangha.
