To mark the Children’s Day, the Puri police on Sunday set up a library for police personnel and their family members at the premises of Reserve Police Grounds, Puri.
It was a longstanding wish of police personnel and their family members who had felt the need for a separate reading room-cum-library in a relatively quieter environment to prepare for various school and competitive exams.
At present, the library has only books on school and other competitive exams, literature and fiction books, besides books on rich heritage of Puri and Jagannath culture.
Some newspapers and magazines are also available in the library. There is also free internet connectivity and a computer facility for children to attend online classes or online coaching.
The Library was inaugurated by a Class-IX student, daughter of a police personnel, in the presence of Puri SP.
