'let State Govt introduce 'Amar ladoo Yojana'

Slamming BJD Mahila Janata Dal president and MlA Pramila Mallik for asking opposition parties to give “Amar ladoo” (immortal sweets) to the farmers, BJP leader Surama Padhy on Monday termed the statement as deplorable and a mockery to the farmers’ community.

Padhy said if the State Government has Amar ladoos then it should start an “Amar ladoo Yojana” to stop farmers from committing suicide.

If the BJD has no such ladoos, Mallik should apologise to people, Padhy demanded.

“Even as farmer suicides continue unabated, airing of such a view by the ruling BJD leaders only adds salt to the farmers’ wounds,” Padhy said, suggesting to the Government to take appropriate steps to resolve the farmers’ problems at the earliest.

BJP State Mahila Morcha president Simantini Jena and State secretary Pravati Parida also held the views as Padhy.
