let Posco pay first, says Industries Minister Debi Prasab Mishra

After a war of words which took place between the Odisha Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (Idco) and the South Korean steel major Posco, the State Government on Saturday clarified that it would give details of utilisation of the amount to the Posco only after getting dues of Rs54 crore towards land premium from the company.

Talking to reporters here, Industries Minister Debi Prasad Mishra said the letter from the Idco to the Posco should yield some result. “First, the dues should be cleared by the company,” he said. The issue came to light after the company sought details of utilisation of Rs30.34 crore it had deposited towards land acquisition for its project. The Idco had also put pressure on the company authorities to pay up land dues worth Rs54 crore, failing which the leased land would be taken back.
