The newly-floated political outfit Samata Kranti Dal (SKD) on Thursday urged the State Government to order a CBI inquiry into the scam committed by various chit fund companies, particularly by the Artha Tatwa (AT) Group in the State.
Addressing mediapersons here, SKD general secretary Manoj Jena said, “Following the arrest and statement of AT Group chief Pradip Sethy to the media that a Minister along with some other heavyweight politicians and journalists are involved in the scam, we do not believe that the State’s Crime Branch (CB) can make an thorough impartial investigation into the scam as the CB is under the control of the Chief Minister.”
“In the wake of Sethy’s statement, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik should immediately order a CBI probe on moral ground to unravel the truth,” said Jena. He also appealed to the Chief Minister to ensure passage of a special law to check the illegal money collection and circulation, besides urging him to initiate steps for return of the money to the investors.
