In order to provide free legal services to children and women victims of domestic violence and social injustice, a district-level legal Aid Clinic was opened here on Monday by the Odisha State legal Aid Services Authority (OSlASA). State Women Development and Social Welfare Director S Ashwasthy inaugurated the clinic in the office of the district Collector in the presence of District and Sessions Judge Gyanaranjan Purohit and OSlASA Member-Secretary Sashikant Mishra. Ashwasthy said the clinic would render free legal aid and counselling to the children and women victims of the violence in families and society. She said the clinic would go a long way in providing justice to the needy. “The clinic would provide free legal aid services, legal advice in how to draft petitions, notices, replies, applications and obtaining other required documents,” said a district official, adding that free counselling would also be given to litigants in resolving disputes amicably without going through the complicacies of litigation.
