The Odisha State Council Communist Party of India held a commemorative meeting for late veteran CPI leader AB Bardhan on Wednesday here at the Institution of Engineers convention hall.
leader of the left movement Bardhan would be remembered for his contribution to promote progressive trade union movement in India, said CPI national secretary and MP D Raja.
Trade Union leader Souribandhu Kar, who chaired the meeting, said Bardhan was committed to the cause of the working class. He was dedicated his life for the exploited and tortured people.
To solve the problems of the youths of Odisha and encourage them to take leadership in the struggle, Bardhan used to come to the State frequently, the speakers said.
BJD general secretary and MP Narendra Kumar Swain, Congress leaders Jagannath Patnaik and Kailas Chandra Acharya, CPI State secretary Dibakar Nayak and Ashis Kanungo were present, among others.
