leaders cutting across party lines met former OSCB president and Odisha Jan Morcha general secretary Jagneswar Babu in Jharpada Jail on Friday.
Former Finance Minister Panchanan Kanungo, former Puri MlA Umaballav Rath, Utkala Bikasha Juba Parisada president Debiprasad Prusti and NCP general secretary Bikram Swain unitedly went to the jail to meet the OJM leader.
The leaders enquired about the health condition and condemned Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led BJD Government for misusing vigilance against political leaders.
“It is a sorry state of affairs that vigilance has been protecting the main culprit Naveen Patnaik in the multi-crore mining scam, while innocent people are harassed,” said Prusty.
The leaders then met the family members of the OJM leader. Notably, Babu, a famous cooperator from the State, was arrested by the State Vigilance on the charge of irregularities in the grant of loan when he was the chairman of the State Cooperative Bank.
