Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday condemned the Maoist attack on a large group of Congress leaders near Sukma in Bastar district in Chhattisgarh leading to 27 persons’ death and expressed his deep condolences to the family members of the deceased.
“Violence of such nature should be condemned and the Maoists should be drastically punished as they do not believe in the law of the country,” said Patnaik.
Expressing his deep sense of sadness over the Maoist mayhem, Union Minister Srikant Jena said it is an attack on democratic values of the country which needs to be condemned by one and all.
Former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik while denouncing the attack said, “I condemn the inaction and incompetence of the Chhattisgarh Government. The BJP Government has generally been mishandling the anti-Maoist strategy and has lost the moral right to continue in office after this dastardly attack on our democratic political process.”
