The Central Gajalaxmi Puja Committee celebrated the immersion ceremony with great pomp in Pallahara Sub-Division.
Nine puja mandaps with their procession arrived at the Pallahara stadium before the immersion ceremony.
Panchayati Raj and Drinking Water, Law, Housing and Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena attended as chief guest.
Besides, Dhenkanal MP Mahesh Sahoo, local MLA Mukesh Pal, PD DRDA Angul Atulya Champatray, Zilla Parishad Vice-President Indramani Garnayak, Minaketan Amant, SDPO Jasobanta Samal, Sub- Collector Ajit Pradhan, Nijigarh Sarpanch Nirupama Bose were present as guests.
Puja committee general secretary Sushil Kumar Samal raised various issues like drinking water, NAC, Sub-Judge Court and town hall at Pallahara. Later, the pranami sweets were auctioned for Rs 30,000.
Minister Jena announced a grant of Rs 35 lakh for construction of a Kalyan Mandap at Pallahara.
