A team of representatives of the Paralakhemundi lawyers’ Association led by its secretary Swarup Kumar Pal on Thursday staged a demonstration before the Southco district headquarters office here in protest against the erratic power cuts and low voltage in Gajapati district.
Finding no concerned official to give explanation on the matter, the lawyers asked some staffs present in the office to come outside and then locked up the office and later staged the demonstration before its main gate.
later, concerned associate engineer Debashis Panda came to the spot and assured the irate lawyers that step would be taken in this regard soon after informing the top engineer. After this, the lawyers called off their strike, but they threatened to launch agitation if the issue is not solved within two days.
