lawyers demand JMFC Court at Mohana

A team of the Mohana Bar Association of Gajapati district on Sunday demanded setting up of a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court at Mohana and submitted a memorandum in this regard to Justice Indrajit Mohanty and the Registrar of the Odisha High Court.

The association pointed out that people of tribals-dominated Mohana area are going a long distance to Parlakhemundi and R Udayagiri for their court work, which is quite expensive for them.

But the Government is not taking any step to solve their problems. Following repeated appeals in the past to set up a court at Mohana, the Government had decided to establish a court, but a long time has elapsed without there being any major initiative made.

However, a favourable indication in this regard was available during the discussion with Justice Mohanty, said the association.

The association’s team included its president Radhamohan Sahu, vice-president Simachala Karji, secretary Santosh Kumar Padhi and assistant secretary Dhaneswar Behera.
