A 12-bandh Badamba Bandh has been called by the local lawyers’ body on Thursday with the support of leaders of different political parties pressing for fulfilment of its various demands.
The demands include opening of a Sub-Judge Court in Badamba, cancellation of the Government's decision of shifting the Badamba Sub-Jail to Narsinghpur, declaring Badamba as a Revenue Sub-Division, upgradation of the Maniabandha police outpost to a police station and others.
Lawyers’ body secretary Paresh Mohanty said that all the educational institutions, Government and non-government organisations would remain closed and buses and others vehicles would be off the roads during the Bandh period.
