A two-day conference of the All Odisha lawyers’ Association (AOlA) was launched by the Ganjam Bar Association here on Friday.
Manipur High Court’s former Chief Justice laxmikant Mohapatra and Odisha State Bar Council Chairman Manas Ranjan Mohapatra graced as guests. AOlA president Sisir Padhy presided over the meeting. Among others, senior lawyers Dr Sudhansu Patro, Rabi Panigrahi, Pitabas Panda and Prabhat Kumar Mohapatra were present. A souvenir was released.
Senior lawyer Basant Kumar Panigrahi, one of the founding faters of AOlA, was felicitated on the occasion. A seminar titled “Parliamentary Sovereignty and Judicial Independence” was held in the afternoon session. AOlA secretary Pravat Kumar Mohapatra, Ganjam Bar Association president P Narasingha Patro and OBSC member senior lawyer Deepak Patnaik talked on the topic. lawyers like Karunakar Panigrahi, Ashoka Sukla and Pradeep Panda coordinated the programme.
