locals of Balipatna in Khordha district on Friday alleged that the law and order situation is deteriorating here with increasing numbers of criminal activities taking place almost every day. They have blamed the newly-posted IIC for the rise in the criminal activities. Instead of taking actions against criminals, the police are demanding bribes from the local businessman, hotels and contractors while threatening them, they alleged. They further informed that while illegal liquor business is going on in the broad daylight yet no action is being taken on behalf of the police.
Stating that common people have been suffering due to the lawlessness, they have threatened to take to the street if the law and order doesn’t improve in the area.
