The Odisha Private Engineering School Association (OPESA) on Thursdaydemanded an opportunity to the students for lateral entry admission in diploma engineering. The members also submitted a memorandum to the RDC here in this regard.
led by SMIT president Bhagawan Gantayat, OPESA members held a demonstration in front of the RDC office. Students of different private engineering colleges and OPESA workers participated in the protest meet.
Though the High Court has given an order for permission for lateral entry, the State Government is not following it, for which. students are going through unemployment problem, they said.
The OPESA members also demanded financial help to the private diploma engineering schools and an opportunity to students take admission in 4,000 vacant seats.
