The growing heat wave along with acute scarcity of drinking water in different parts of Keonjhar district has thrown life of gear.
While little measures were taken by the administration, the fuel filling stations of Bharat Petroleum, Hindustan Petroleum and India Oil along with different gas distributing agencies have come forward to open free drinking water stalls near their business centres all over the district.
During the Maha Bisubha Sankranti on April 14, OM Sai Indane and some other agencies distributed soft drinks and lassi to passers-by throughout the day. The temporary drinking water distributing centres are providing cool safe drinking water besides temporary shelter to the people during the hot summer day time. The water distribution will continue throughout the summer season, an Indian Oil official said.
