Around 2,000 people led by the lanjigarh JMFC Court Steering Committee had a rally at lanjigarh in Kalahandi district in front of the Collector office here on Tuesday. Submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister through the district Collector, they demanded setting up of a Judicial Magistrate First Class (JMFC) Court at lanjigarh.
The committee pointed out that people of the tribals-dominated lanjigarh area are going a long distance to Bhawanipatna for their court work, which is quite expensive for them. The Government is not taking any step. The Government is not in favour of lanjigarh people; rather they have planned to shift the proposed court to Biswanathpur, convener of the committee Rajendra Pratap Singh Deo said.
