The State Government has issued notices to 24 engineering and management institutes for encroaching on Government land and carrying out constructions. This was stated by Revenue Minister Bijayshree Routray in a written reply to a question by Dilip Ray in the State Assembly. The Employment and Technical Education and Training Department has issued t he show-cause notices to these institutions, he said.
Routray said the Revenue Department has asked the concerned officials to take steps to free the land of encroachment. The Mahavir Institute of Engineering and Technology grabbed the highest 24 acres of Government land, the Minister said. The other institutes include Rajdhani Engineering and Technology, Gandhi Institute for Technology and Asian School of Business Management.
