Seven people met Keonhar SP Rajesh Pandit in connection with a land fraud case involving Rs 1 crore committed in the year 2015.
Sources said one Akshsya Kumar Nath has allegedly duped people of more than Rs 1 crore while promising to provide land to them in Keonjhar.
However, the people later realised that they have already been cheated and thus filed a complaint against his name at the Keonjhar town police station. Though months have passed, the police were yet to taken any action against Nath, who is moving freely now.
Earlier on October 3, 2016, the victims had met district Collector Dr N Tirumalanaik and apprised him about their grievance. The Collector soon forwarded the matter to the then SP Kabita Jallan.
After her transfer, the victims also met the incumbent SP on March 15, 2017.
As they didn’t get any justice, the victims met the SP again on Tuesday.
The SP is understood to have assured them to take strong action against the accused and, if required, his landed property would put into auction.
Those met the SP include Suryanarayan Mahanta, Khirod Chandra Mahanta and Gunanidhi Mahanta.
