The Odisha High Court asked the State Government to submit a copy of the report of the Taskforce on the allotment of Government land in a closed envelope. Besides, the court also asked the Government to submit an action-taken report (ATR) on the report of the Taskforce.
The directive of the court came in response to a PIl filed by one Ramesh Chandra Sahu of Cuttack. The petitioner has urged the court to ask the Government to order a CBI probe into the allotment of Government land in violation of rules and norms.The three-member Taskforce headed by Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) Taradatt was constituted by the Government on August 2 in the wake of widespread public resentment over the illegal allotment of Government land and flats to some influential persons following exposure through a report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.
