Rattled by the missing of Goddess lakshmi’s golden crown, which triggered a controversy, the Shree Jagannath Temple Trust (SJTA) on Tuesday announced some new guidelines for management of the jewellery of the lakshmi Temple.
SJTA Chief Administrator Pradeep Jena said henceforth the lakshmi Temple would not have its own store. All the jewelleries and valuables would be stored in the central storeroom of the Jagannath Temple.
The sevayats whenever take any jewellery, record of it would be maintained. The Sevayats cannot take handle any jewellery or other things of the lakshmi Temple on their own. They are only entitled to take the donations received by the temple from the devotees, Jena said.
