The 16th death anniversary of social worker lakshmi Panda will be held on the day of Sitala Sasthi on Tuesday at her Ganndhinagar residence here. Panda passed away in 1998 due to sunstroke.
lakshmi Panda's husband late Govinda Chandra Panda was also a great freedom fighter and an ex-Army personnel who fought in the Second World War. lakshmi Panda was very popular among her associates, peers and locals as she was an extremely active, soft-spoken, amicable, and disciplined woman who as always prepared to help those who needed her services.
She is survived by her four sons, former Assembly Deputy Speaker Rama Chandra Panda, former Health Department employee Kishore Chandra Panda, Prof Krushna Chandra Panda and Purnna Chandra Panda, currently working as an officer of IRE limited.
Those who would join lakshmi Panda's Sraddha ceremony include former Youth Congress leader Tumbanath Panda, Prof lakshminarayan Panda, Er Bijay Kumar Panda, Prof SP Acharya, documentary film producer and script writer Kumud Prasad Acharya, Advocate Naresh Kumar Acharya, Shiva Builders MD Suresh Kumar Acharya and real estate tycoon Pradaosh Kumar Panigrahi.
