A lady police officer, Sabita Majhi, of the Paradip police station on Sunday lodged an FIR against Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Satyapriya Mishra alleging that he had misbehaved with her during a court work. The police have registered a case and investigation is on. On the other hand, members of the Jagatsinghpur Bar Association launched a two-day cease-work stir on Monday giving moral support to the CJM.
Reports said the lady cop had on Sunday brought a juvenile accused for presenting in the CJM Court here. As it was a holiday, the CJM held court at his residence and asked cop to sign some papers, including a bail bond for granting bail to the accused. The cop objected to doing so without her seniors’ assent. The police officer later lodged an FIR at the Jagatsinghpur police station against the CJM. Meanwhile on Monday, the case was referred to the State Human Right Protection Cell (HRPC) for investigation, informed Jagatsinghpur PS IIC Sanjeev Mohanty.
