labour and ESI Minister Sushant Singh on Sunday demanded that BJP leader Jayanarayan Mishra be arrested soon as he has been named as an accused in the FIR on his brother’s attack case.
“Mishra is behind attack on my brother and his friends. As he has been named in the FIR, he should be arrested soon,” said Singh.
However, BJP MlA Radharani Panda refuted the charge, saying that Mishra is unnecessarily being dragged into the case.
BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb said all violent incidents occurred at the behest of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan during Bijepur by-poll. Each incident of violence was pre-indicated by Dharmendra Pradhan, he said. “If Dharmendra Pradhan tells about an issue today, an incident of violence will occur very next day. Be it shoes hurling or Banabira attack case,” he said.
However, BJP State general secretary Prithviraj Harichandan said all incidents were plotted and executed by the BJD.
It may be noted that some miscreants had attacked Singh’s brother Subrat Singh and his four associates at Banabira under Sohela block in Bargarh district on Thursday night, a day before the Bijepur by-poll. Subrat’s driver latter succumbed to injuries.
