The Commissionerate Police on Wednesday busted a high profile sex racket operating in a posh apartment at Sri Vihar here and rescued a sex worker of Kyrgyzstan.

Acting on a tipoff, the cops raided the house and arrested one Somesh Panda in the connection besides rescuing the sex worker. However, most-wanted and kingpin of the racket Sunil Meher managed to escape from the police net. Shockingly, the girl turned violent and started hurling things around and throwing sandals at the police.

“We brought her only two days back. This girl is from Kyrgyzstan. She charges Rs 20,000- 30,000 per customer,” said Panda while confessing his crime.

Bhubaneswar DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said kingpin Meher is a habitual offender and involved in many such cases. Even though he had been arrested earlier, he manages to get bail and gets back into the same business again and again. Search is on to nab him, he added.

“We are questioning both Panda and the girl to get further details like how the girl was bought here, how their network operates and who are their associates here,” the DCP said.
