A BJP team headed by party legislature wing leader KV Singh Deo on Saturday met Governor Dr SC Jamir and urged him to direct the police to expedite the inquiry into the attack on party workers by BJD leaders and activists at Manmunda in Boudh district on July 29.
“Even though a case has been registered under the SC and ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, police have not taken any action against the culprits so far. As two Ministers have been named in the FIR, there is possibility that police might not conduct investigation at all. Kindly intervene and ensure that the investigation is conducted properly,” Singh Deo urged the Governor.
Among others, party State vice-president Sameer Mohanty, general secretary Bhrugu Baxipatra, lekhashree Samantasinghar and MlA Pradeep Purohit were present.
