Members of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Balangir unit staged a dharna in front of the district Collectorate here on Mondaydemanding a Crime Branch inquiry into the alleged misuse of MlA lAD funds by Patnagarh BJP MlA KV Singh Deo.
“land has been taken away from poor people on the pretext of giving jobs in the hospital at Karlmal village under Khaprakhol block in Balangir district and MlA lAD money has been spent there. We demand a Crime Branch probe into the matter,” said party leader Ajaya Das.
The activists also demanded action against Singh Deo for his alleged violation of the MlA lAD fund rules and cheating poor people. later, a team of the party submitted an eight-point charter of demands to Chief Minister Naveen Pattnaik through the district administration. The demands included clarification on whether the Central Government or the State Government had given permission for the hospital and whether Rs2 lakh has been spent for construction of the hospital.
