Utkal Bharat president and former MP Kharabela Swain on Thursday filed a PIl in the Orissa High Court seeking a CBI probe into the rape and suicide of the Kunduli minor Dalit girl.
Swain has prayed to the court to make the Chief Secretary, the Home Secretary, the DGP, the Koraput SP and the Pottangi police station IIC parties in the case.
In a related development on the day, the brother of the victim girl filed a case at the Koraput Civil and Sessions Court alleging negligence on the part of Government officials in the matter.
The case was filed against South Western Range DIG Shyni , Koraput district SP Kanwar Visshal Singh, Koraput DSP Niranjan Behera, district police headquarters Inspector Mamata Panigrahi, Pottangi PS ICC Dev Kumar Gomango, District Welfare Officer, Pottangi Block Welfare Extension Officer District Headquarters Hospital doctors and Pottangi Community Health Centre doctors, State Forensic Science laboratory Assistant Director and Assistant Chemical Examiner and Serology Division Assistant Director and Assistant Chemical Examiner.
It has been prayed that the court take cognisance of the alleged negligence by concerned Government officials and punish them as per law considering the facts and circumstances of the case.
