The State Congress on Monday held an innovative demonstration in the State capital alleging negligence and delay by the State Government in providing
justice to the Kunduli gangrape victim.
The party activists donned gowns with slogans written on it and went round different parts of the city in a motorbike rally urging people for their support in order to provide justice to the victim girl.
Party’s SC Cell chief Krushna Chandra Sagaria said they would continue to fight for justice for the Kunduli gangrape victim. They would continue to agitate till justice is provided to her.
He said they would also seek support of the people in their mission.
The party had on Sunday announced that after Bhubaneswar, similar demonstrations will be held in Cuttack, Sambalpur, Rourkela and other places.
However, in reaction to the Congress protest, BJD spokesperson Rabi Narayan Nanda said a Special Investigation Team probe under the supervision of an Orissa High Court Judge has been announced by the Chief Minister. But some people are unnecessarily politicising the issue. The State Government is committed to provide justice to the victim.
