Kulamani Biswal took over as the Director (Finance) of the NTPC on Monday.
A commerce graduate from the Utkal University and fellow member of the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Biswal has done llB from the Sambalpur University and postgraduate diploma in Financial Management from the Indira Gandhi National Open University of New Delhi. He is an MBA from the New Port University of California.
Biswal has rich experience of 28 years both in coal and power sectors. He was the Director (Finance) in Mahanadi Coalfields limited (MCl) since October 2010 managing finance, accounting and corporate governance functions of the company. He was the Chief (Finance) at the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission and contributed to drafting of various regulations and policies for smooth functioning of the power sector from 2004 to 2010.
