The Kujang Bazar streetlights are off since Thursday due to nonpayment of electricity dues which is a whopping of Rs 5.80 lakh.
The power discontinuance to street lights have put Kujang semi-township dark creating sever inconvenience to the denizens.
Reports said that the street light energy bill of Kujanga Bazar is paid by the Kujang block authority. This year local Cesu department had sent yearly bill to the BDO who refused to clear the bill citing non allotment of funds.
Consequently, Cesu snapped the electricity supply. The incident has created sharp reaction among civilians, the local market committee and vendors.
