In view of no political party getting a majority and the possible horse trading for formation of Government in Karnataka, the FPI said that the election system in India is flawed and needs to be reformed.
The party urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a deeper study of the working of parliamentary democracy in the federal republic of Germany which has adopted mixed PR system of election for many decades back and which has the best way of electing the leader first by the newly elected members of the House and that “leader” by virtue of such election almost automatically becomes the head of the Government leaving little scope for manipulation in the system to the advantage of particular a political party.
