The birthday of Maharaja Krushnachandra Gajapati Narayandeo was observed by different organisations here on Wednesday.
The Ganjam Zilla Shondik Samaj held a commemorative meeting where its president Prabhakar Sahu and members Bhishmacharya Choudhury, Sanjay Majhi, Pravat Kiran Sarangi and Sabita Sahukar paid tributes to the first Prime Minister of Odisha. They too observed a two-minute silence for the Jawans who were killed by Maoists in Sukma recently.
Similarly, members of the Manav Adhikar Manch paid tributes to the legendary by garlanding his statue. Abani Kumar Gaya, Dr AR Verma, Maguni Nayak and Shambashiba Rao participated.
Besides, the Sanskar Badi, NTR Seva Samiti, Brahmapur Senior Citizen Forum and the Bahumukhi Samaj Mangal Kendra also observed Gajapati Krushnachand’s birthday at different places in the city.
Sanskar Badi’s Trinath Moharana and Rasha Bihari Dash, Samiti’s Venkat Ramana and Tripati Rao and Samaj Mangal Kendra’s Md Aasalam observed the day.
