K'put rape: CB probe can unravel truth, says Bishnu

Published on:

After he stirred the hornets’ nest by claiming that jawans are involved in the Kunduli gang rape case, BJD Dalit Cell convenor Bishnu Das now seems to be in trouble.

Das went to the Naveen Niwas to meet him, but Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik did not give time to talk to him. Das told reporters that the Chief Minister was annoyed with him as he was a bit late to reach the Naveen Niwas and the Chief Minister was scheduled to leave for a meeting.

He further stated, “As people have been demanding an impartial investigation into the Kunduli gangrape case, I asked for a probe by the Crime Branch.”

When asked whether he would demand a Crime Branch probe during his future meeting with the CM, Das said, “I will give further comments on it only after talking to him.” He emphatically said the truth would come out after a Crime Branch probe.

On November 3, Das had stated that based on the statements of the gangrape survivor and an on-the-spot inquiry conducted by a Dalit Cell delegation, jawans’ involvement in the incident is suspected as the

accused donned combat uniform and had covered their faces with black bandana.
