The Special Vigilance Judge Court here has sentenced Radhakanta Khuntia, former VlW-cum-Panchayat Executive Officer of Palia gram panchayat under Jharigaon block in Nabarangpur district, to two years of rigorous imprisonment while convicting him in a misappropriation case.
Khuntia, currently serving as Agriculture Overseer at Mujang under Dashmantpur block in Koraput district, has also been imposed of a fine of Rs 20,000.
He would undergo another six months of RI if fails to pay the fine amount, a Vigilance release said. It informed that Khuntia had misappropriated 1,000 bags of cement worth Rs 1.80 lakh in execution of construction of a check dam and a road during his last stint in Palia GP.
