The Koraput district Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department has bagged the national award for successful implementation of the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA).
In a ceremony held at the Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi recently, district Collector Anupam Saha received the award. later, the Collector said it was really a prestigious moment for the district and the administration, which is taking many more steps for development of the district.
The Collector also informed that the administration has launched its profile in the social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter. He said people can now directly air their grievances and problems in these accounts which are monitored by the administration and immediate action would be taken.
The award ceremony was presided over by Union Minister for Rural Development, Panchayati Raj, Drinking Water and Sanitation Narendra Singh Tomar and Union Minister of State Ram Kripal Yadav and Union Secretary Amarjeet Sinha, among others.
